365 Days Project

As 2012 is coming to an end, I am inspired to start a 365 Days Project for 2013. As I was brainstorming for my theme, I came across the “Make Something 365 & Get Unstuck” blog and was amazed at the number of people that have stuck to a project for 365 days! Totally motivating and inspiring…

Some ideas I’m toying with are:

  • Pet-related: My baby’s name is Scooter and he is very well-behaved (for the most part lol) so I was thinking of photographing his ability of self-control with various items.

  • Portraits: Everyday we come across so many strangers in our lives and forget their appearance within minutes. I was thinking of taking a bystander’s photo (with their permission) in an attempt to get out of my comfort zone and talk to strangers.

  • Selfless: Since we are a tech-savvy generation immersed with technology, we have forgotten the sentimental meaning of written letters… I was thinking if I received a random written letter from a stranger with kind words, it would totally make my day… The only implication would be 365 stamps and 365 envelopes and 365 papers, so it comes at a financial cost of roughly $200. Not to mention that I might run out of things to say and I would be pretty limited to what I could say to a stranger…

Do you remember when we use to receive written letters?

  • Selfless: Most of us are very fortunate with the comforts we enjoy like a home, family, car, warm meals, etc… So I was thinking that it would make somebody’s day (even if for one day) to receive any item they need like a blanket, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, warm meal, etc… But this would be the most costly of my ideas so I’m not sure I can afford it.

Just asking someone "How are you?" can be an act of kindness. Read a touching story about giving back at http://theethiopiantimes.com/2012/03/13/a-story-of-kindness/.

  • Selfless: My most favorite idea so far is to just do something/anything nice for anybody in our lives or neighbors or strangers. It could be as simple as picking up an empty bottle that someone lazily tossed on the street to giving a day of service to a charity organization to giving donations to listening to someone’s problems when they need to vent.

It doesn't have to be a grand act, just anything that comes from the heart and anything that has a positive impact will do.

I’m excited 🙂
